An updated final report is coming later this evening.

The Tri-C Men’s basketball team is hurting, Coach Randy White said Dec. 4 before the team played Erie Community College and lost 108-65.

Jahad Fruits, one of the team’s highest scorers, suffered a grave injury while playing Lorain County Community College Dec. 3. White said Fruits tore some muscle tissue in his calf and may have to sit out several games.

So without key players in the game against Erie, the Challengers floundered throughout the evening. Tensions were high after the game as Tri-C players were yelling loudly for several minutes in the team locker room. A player said they were pointing fingers at one another with blame, but reunited as a team before leaving.

Also, the Voice News has confirmed with Tri-C’s athletic director that White served a one-day suspension missing the Nov. 23 basketball game against Niagara Community College. Complete coverage on this aspect later on Thursday.

Voice Sports Reporter Tommy Carosielli will have more late afternoon Thursday on the basketball game against Erie. However, at noon, a video recap on Wednesday’s game will be posted at this site.
