Part of a series of programs designed to provide an in-depth exploration of newsworthy topics from a variety of perspectives.
The Heroin Epidemic program will examine the increasing rates of heroin addiction and heroin related deaths in our community and the Community Action Plan developed to find solutions to the epidemic. Panelists will discuss the role of healthcare professionals, social service provders, the criminal justice system, and the media in raising awareness and Sponsored by Cuyahoga Community College Departments of Student Life and Journalism and Mass Communication, The Press Club of Cleveland, and The Voice, Tri-C’s Student Newspaper.combating the crisis. Panelists will include representatives from the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Drug Court, the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County, The MetroHealth System, and the local newspaper and television reporters.
