A man found shot multiple times and deceased at the doorstep of his own home Jan. 27th, as reported by local media, has just been confirmed to be a Tri-C student at the Metro Campus.

Marc T. Lanier, 49, was discovered by a neighbor at his Warrensville Heights home after five gunshots rang throughout that night near the 20000 block of Wickfield Avenue, according to media reports.

Tri-C officials confirmed he was an electrical engineering student since 2013, and sources who knew Lanier said he was a good student with a 3.5 GPA.

Classmates and staff at the Metro Campus remember him as being a nice and humble guy.

“He was a good and peaceful guy,” said Lonia Bonton, a former classmate and Facebook friend of Lanier. “He always talked about his wife and children. He was almost done (with school),”

Ava Roberts, head cashier at the Metro cafeteria remembered him as being very sweet and respectful.

“He came in every morning for breakfast. He will be missed,” Roberts said.

Details surrounding the fatal shooting are still developing, and police have no suspects at this time of publication. The Voice will continue to monitor the investigation and will report new details as they become available.
