Power Outage at East Campus Canceled Evening Classes

Power-Outage-Graphic1A regional power outage where the Tri-C Eastern Campus and Corporate College East is located caused the college to cancel classes at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Marcia Lefridge, the Eastern Campus Editor-in-Chief, reported that the lights in all the buildings at East were off, and emergency lights were illuminated.

Also, traffic lights at Richmond and Harvard roads were not working.

The Illuminating Company Website reported that crews were addressing two different power outages in the area where between 21 and 100 customers have lost power at around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The power company restored power by the evening, and classes were expected to meet as scheduled on Thursday.
