Be sure to catch music icons Biz Markie and DJ Swamp this Friday as they entertain a crowd at 7:30 p.m. in the Metro Mainstage Theatre.

General Admission is $20, but Tri-C students pay $5, and other students pay $10.

Biz Markie is best known for his hit “Just a Friend” and has a long career in both music and television.

Cleveland native DJ Swamp made history with the first music video to include 3-D video scratching. He produced several DJ tools including his infamous “skip-proof” records. He has toured extensively with Beck, and his scratching has appeared on songs by The Crystal Method, Vanilla Ice, Devo, Hanson, Kid Rock, and Katy Perry to name a few.

These icons make their appearance during a three-day HipHop Homecoming event, where all the other events are free. There will be panel discussion Thursday and Friday, and a family-fun day on Saturday where people can participate in sessions on graffiti art, turntabling, breakdancing and beat box.
