The Recreation Department at Tri-C’s Western Campus offers several open activities for students, faculty and staff members, and senior citizens are able to enjoy during the Fall Semester.
If you are someone who likes to be in the water then take advantage of the open swimming pool.
Located in the Recreation Center, (WRC F105) open swim hours on the weekend are: Friday from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. through 9 p.m. as well as on Saturday from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m.
In addition, the gymnasium has weekend hours on Friday from 7 p.m. through 9 p.m., if you prefer to exercise, walk or jog, play basketball or soccer.
Two indoor tennis courts are available on Saturday as follows: The South Court is open from 9 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. and the Middle/North Courts from 9 a.m. through 10:45 a.m.
If you like volleyball, the courts are open on Sunday from 5 p.m. through 8 p.m. Regarding open volleyball, one student said, ”My experience going every Sunday to the open volleyball was amazing. It helped me with my mental and physical health. At open volleyball I met a lot of people from different countries and cultures.”
Students, faculty or staff members need to bring their MyTri-C Card and Senior Citizens need their Golden Buckeye Card in order to enjoy any of these fun activities.
When bringing a guest, you will need to obtain a Guest Card from the Enrollment Center for a first-time fee of $1. The pool and gym fees are $3 per person, per visit and you can obtain a step-by-step flyer with step-by-step instructions on how to purchase and activate a Tri-C Guest Card.
You don’t need to have experience or skills to enjoy these open activities every weekend!!
