As a student at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), balancing coursework, life, and staying connected can be tough, especially if you do not have reliable internet access. Thankfully, Tri-C’s Wi- Fi Hotspot Program is back, and it is making life easier for students like me who need free Wi-Fi to get through the semester.

I recently found out about the program, which allows students to borrow a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot that uses free cellular data. The application process is super simple—all you must do is fill out the Tri-C Wi-Fi Hotspot Program application, and you will receive an email with details on how and where to pick it up. Here is the link to apply: This hotspot is a game-changer. I can connect my laptop, phone, and tablet anywhere—whether I am at home or on the go. It is especially useful for online classes or late-night study sessions. The best part?  It is completely free if you are a current Tri-C student, and you get to keep it for the entire semester!

Of course, there are a few things to remember. If you lose or damage the hotspot, you will have to pay a $90 replacement fee, and when you return it, make sure all the components (like the charger and case) are included. The device even comes with easy-to-follow instructions, so you can get online in no time.

The program offers two types of hotspots, either from T-Mobile or PCs for People. I learned that after using a certain amount of data—50GB for T-Mobile and 23GB for PCs for People—the connection might slow down, but it is still more than enough to stay productive. You can also connect to four devices at once, which is perfect if you need to use both your phone and laptop.

So, who can apply? Any currently enrolled Tri-C student with no major overdue library materials or fines. If you meet these requirements, you are good to go! Just make sure to return the hotspot at the end of the semester so other students can use it too. This program has been a lifesaver for me, and I know it will help other students stay connected and focused. If you are struggling with internet access, do not hesitate to apply for your hotspot today!
