Have you ever wondered how does it feel to be 40 feet up and only supported by a rope? Probably not, although try to imagine. It must be a terrifying feeling, something against all our survival instincts, yet some people call it a hobby. A scary one, without a doubt, but it is something that not only helps you exercise every single muscle of your body, but also your mind. Defeating your fears and challenging you in every possible way. It does not sound like a very nice hobby but try it,and you will be amazed by your own capacities. Beat your limits and leave stress behind!
Also, it is a wonderful way to build new connections. Make new friends that like the same weird feeling in your belly when you are descending from a rock wall. Share your victories and keep pushing one another to more difficult routes and higher goals. Let’s keep in mind that I am not suggesting you do anything crazy, or at least too crazy. Always stay safe and learn the proper ways before adventuring into the heights. Find your pace, stick to the rules and with time and effort you will get better, as in anything in life. Practice is the master of perfection, they say.
Another great aspect about this sport is that it is suitable fora great variety of people: your complexity, how tall or short you are, and how old are you does not matter. Everyone finds their own routes to go up the wall. No excuses! The only excuses you’ll find up there are the ones you tell yourself, and then you will realize the time to break them has come. Anyways, hope that you will give it a try to overcome your fears and test your body. And probably become one more person with a crazy hobby–like me!
